Greek organic pioneer MANI Bläuel

OVER 40 YEARS OF SUSTAINABILITY AND COOPERATION

CREATING A PIECE OF THE FUTURE WITH FARMING FAMILIES

Appreciation of people and nature has been the basis of the Bläuel family's business activities for over 40 years. Fritz and Burgi Bläuel came to the Mani at the end of the 1970s in search of alternative ways of living and doing business. Soon they began to set up organic farming and the production of the finest olive oil together with olive farmers and millers. To date, MANI Bläuel has accompanied over 300 farmers in their conversion. This commitment resulted in Greece's first certified organic olive oil in 1991, which is now exported worldwide.

The Bläuel family has been cooperating with Greek olive farmers for over 40 years

Since 2009, son Felix has been part of the management and is setting new impulses for the future of the company, such as with the Naturland Fair certification, which makes the company's long-standing environmental and social commitment transparent and controllable. Daughter Julia has been actively involved in MANI Bläuel GmbH since 2015, where she has also been managing director since 2021. In respectful, fair cooperation with small farmers, the company contributes to the preservation of traditional olive cultivation. The fruits are processed particularly gently. The results are olive products that have won many awards.

Today, Felix Bläuel and Julia Bläuel-Löschenbrand run the business of the family company

MANI SONNENLINK ORGANIC HOTEL

With the same pioneering spirit, Burgi Bläuel opened the "Mani-Sonnenlink" in 2004, the first and to-date only certified "organic hotel" in Greece. The hotel is located in the southern Peloponnese and invites you to relax and recharge your batteries under the Greek sun.

The organic hotel MANI Sonnenlink is a place of encounter and relaxation

MANI CROWDFUNDING

Since 2019, the family business has been offering further added value with a sustainable financing model. MANI Bläuel thus gives interested parties the opportunity to make their money work sustainably. With the Olivenbäumchen-Darlehen, customers and friends of MANI Bläuel now also have the opportunity to take this alternative and largely independent financing path.

FOCUS ON PEOPLE AND NATURE

For the Bläuel family, people and nature are always at the centre of their work. As the largest employer in the region, the Bläuels naturally assume social responsibility and create family-friendly jobs - in close cooperation with the farmers. For example, the Bläuel company pays its olive farmers a fair price that is higher than the world market price. Young people are thus offered an incentive to stay in the villages of the region and to continue to revive the ancient cultural landscape.

Since the beginning, the sustainable company philosophy has been a matter of course for the Bläuel family. Thus, the first photovoltaic system was built in 2010 and the system was expanded at the end of 2020. This can cover the entire annual demand for electricity at our Greek production facility. With the promotion of biodiversity in the olive groves, the organically produced products and the environmentally friendly electricity generated from its own photovoltaic system, the family business is taking responsibility in ecological terms.
