Orange biscuits with nougat filling
The fine orange aroma together with the nougat filling make these Christmas biscuits a special treat and bring variety to the biscuit plate. Instead of butter, we use olive oil for the shortbread - this makes the dough not only healthier but also light and airy. The orange biscuits with nougat filling are also easy to make and taste good to everyone.
The quantity is enough for approx. 30 pieces.

Ingridients for the dough:
Ingridients for the filling:
- 135 g roasted hazelnuts
- 60 ml maple syrup
- 60 ml vegetable milk
- 1 ½ tbsp cocoa powder
- A little vanilla extract
Zubereitung:
Knead all the ingredients into a smooth dough and leave to rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Then roll out thinly and cut out any desired biscuit shapes (always 2 of the same shape). Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake at 175°C top/bottom heat in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
In the meantime, prepare the filling. Put all the ingredients in an electric chopper or blender and blend until creamy. If the mixture is still too firm, simply add a little more vegetable milk. If you don't want to do this step, you can of course also use a ready-made nut nougat cream.
Assemble 2 biscuits at a time with the nut nougat filling and decorate with melted chocolate or icing sugar.
