The MANI extra virgin olive oil, Kalamata POD is characterized by its golden-green color and exquisite taste . The interplay of mild fruit aromas and a spicy-herbal note not only goes well with salads, but also represents a definite enrichment for the warm kitchen.
The Koroneiki olive used is an autochthonous olive variety from the southern Peloponnese , which thrives on the Greek peninsula - more precisely in Kalamata - under optimal conditions. In addition to the mineral soil and the numerous hours of sunshine, gentle harvesting and expert extraction also play a decisive role when it comes to producing high-quality organic olive oils. The MANI extra virgin olive oil, Polyphenol not only performs excellently in olive oil tests, but also in health issues. Due to the high polyphenol content of 500 mg/kg, the organic olive oil can proudly claim its health-promoting effects. Polyphenols are so-called secondary plant substances that are deposited in the surface layer of (stone) fruits. The most important "Olive oil polyphenol" is named oleuropein and is said to protect the body from free radicals as well as having an anti-inflammatory effect.
The polyphenol content in an olive oil depends, among other things, on the variety, cultivation conditions, harvest time and the extraction process. The organic pioneer MANI was the first supplier to bring an olive oil with such a high polyphenol content onto the organic market .

The Koroneiki olive is native to the middle finger of the Peloponnese and is the ideal basis for the MANI ginger olive oil. After the gentle - mostly hand-picked - harvest, the olive oil is obtained cold-extracted . For the spicy ginger taste, freshly cut pieces of ginger are then added to a small amount of olive oil and marinated until the desired aroma is achieved. Then the resulting infused olive oil is mixed with olive oil.

In the GENUSS.Magazine Oil Award 2019, MANI organic olive oil with lemon took third place in the olive oil test. The organic olive oil owes its fruity-lemon taste to the addition of natural essential lemon oil . Finely chopped fresh lemon peels are placed in a small amount of olive oil. These are only removed from the oil once the optimum fruit aroma has been achieved. This natural infused olive oil is then blended with olive oil.
The refreshing lemon aroma of the organic olive oil with lemon is not only used in cold dishes, but also when baking cakes and many other delicacies.

As the test winner among the MANI olive oils, the MANI extra virgin olive oil, Selection repeatedly prevails in various olive oil tests. It even triumphed with the gold or silver medal at selected awards for several years.
For an olive oil to go down in olive oil history as a first-class organic olive oil, however, it needs more than a place on the podium. A lot of work and expertise goes into action behind the scenes , because the path from a high-quality olive to a high-quality olive oil invariably involves “high-quality” production. It is particularly important that the olive oil comes into contact with oxygen as little as possible during the entire process. For this reason, MANI has dedicated itself entirely to the cold extraction method, which, in contrast to cold pressing, takes place in a closed system throughout.
In addition to cultivation, soil conditions, harvest and purely mechanical production, a large number of other fundamental quality criteria determine the end result. Organic olive oils are:
In order to deliver truly authentic results, all of these aspects should be recorded and mapped as part of an olive oil test. It is also important to take into account that olive oils are produced anew every year, which can automatically lead to tiny fluctuations in the composition of the content. For a natural product, this is completely "natural" .
These natural fluctuations sometimes lead to different results when examining product quality. In addition, published tests sometimes lack specific information regarding the procedure, test criteria and weighting. Improved traceability and transparency would be desirable.
The bottom line is that olive oil test results have so far been classified as indicators that give a first impression of an oil. Additional self-research into company values, product philosophy and cultivation methods provides additional information about which olive oil should ultimately be given preference.
